LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday urged people not to allow derailment of development by electing any other party in the upcoming local body polls.
Addressing Prabuddh Varg Sammelan in Mathura in the last leg of such meetings ahead of local body polls, the CM spoke about the need for strengthening development by turning the double engine Bharatiya Janata Party government into a triple engine government by ensuring party’s victory in local bodies as well.
During the event, the chief minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 210 development projects worth Rs 822 crore in Mathura.
He also announced that projects worth Rs 30,000 crore for the development of ‘Brajbhoomi’ were either underway, proposed or in the pipeline.
Thanking Mathura for electing only BJP MLAs in the assembly polls, Yogi said: “You blessed us eight months ago by electing BJP candidates. You proved that the land of Lord Krishna cannot stand with immorality, corruption, injustice and exploitation.
“UP is one of the cleanest and most beautiful states in the country. It is a state that will soon provide jobs to every youth in the state and multiply the income of farmers and traders manifold in the coming years. It would also ensure safety and security of people in the state while ensuring massive development with projects like waterways, flyovers, four-lane roads expressways and ropeways.
We realise that only development can change the lives of youth, farmers and traders,” Yogi said. The CM added that over the past several months, the development of ‘Brajbhoomi’ was taking place at a rapid pace and by allowing another party win the municipal elections, Mathura should not put a speed breaker in development process.
“A new Board was formed after Mathura was upgraded to a municipal corporation. All MLAs in this area are also from BJP.
That is why development has been so rapid here,” he said. Speaking about UP’s “glorious history”, of which Lord Krishna’s birth and life were an integral part, the CM said that together with Lord Ram’s birthplace in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, sites associated with Lord Buddha, the Ganga and Yamuna rivers and the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela, the state government was working towards the development of UP’s spiritual locations and traditions.
Lauding PM Narendra Modi’s role during the fight against the novel coronavirus, Yogi said that while the world surrendered to the pandemic and is facing its after effects such as starvation deaths and change in government, India fought the pandemic successfully and provided free test, treatment and vaccines along with free ration to people, which no other country of the world did.
