BAREILLY: An 80-year-old man was hacked to death by his 46-year-old son after the former refused to give his Rs 20,000 in Hafiz Ganj area. The victim had sold wood for Rs 80,000 and his younger son was asking for his share, police said.
The second incident was reported from Bhamora village where a 26-year-old man was hacked to death by his 30-year-old cousin who recently came out of jail on bail. Accused Dharam Veer was arrested in a murder case earlier.
After he was sent to jail, his wife started living with his cousin. When he came out of jail, Dharam Veer found out the truth and in a fit of rage, he hacked his cousin Om Prakash to death. Another incident was reported from the Aliganj area where the body of a missing man, 26, was recovered from a village pond. Police found injuries on the body and sent it for autopsy to ascertain the reason of death.
The fourth incident was reported from Bareilly city where a man was shot dead in broad daylight on Monday. Victim Sujeet Kumar, 28, a resident of Gangapur locality under the limits of Baradari police station and his father Daya Prasad had reportedly raised objection against a local Rahul Kumar who was selling illicit liquor in the area. On Monday, when Sujeet was on his way to work, he was allegedly shot at point blank range by Rahul, who was accompanied by his brother and a few aides. Sujeet died on the spot. Police have arrested Rahul and have recovered the murder weapon.
Additional SP (rural) Rajkumar Agarwal said, “We have registered FIRs in the murder cases and suspects have been taken into custody. Action is being taken as per the law.”
