LUCKNOW: A sunny day with no more dense fog blocking the sunlight gave relief from the prevailing cold conditions to city people on Sunday. However, Met department officials said that the city will face another spell of fog and low temperatures in the coming days.
The weathermen predicted that both day and night temperatures will witness a fall by three-four degrees Celsius accompanied by another round of dense fog in the next three days.
“Temperatures will not fall all of a sudden but gradually. The minimum and maximum temperatures which have been around 22 and 10 degrees Celsius respectively for the past few days and are likely to fall up to 20 and 7 degrees Celsius respectively,” said senior scientist Lucknow Met department Mohd Danish.
He said this drop in temperatures will be mainly due to cold north-westerly wind due to which the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh will witness a drop in both day and night temperatures by three-four degrees, while temperatures in the western part of the state will fall by two degrees or so. Also due to westerlies the wind chill factor is likely to go up. The fog situation is also likely to be intensified in the coming days, he added.
On Sunday the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded 22 and 9.6 degrees Celsius respectively. On Monday maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 20 and 8 degrees Celsius respectively. Moderate to dense fog would occur in the morning followed mainly by a clear sky.
