LUCKNOW: Taking cognizance of rush and chaos at Delhi airport’s T3 terminal, the officials of Lucknow airport have issued an advisory asking passengers to arrive 2-4 hours prior to flight departure.
Lucknow airport is also witnessing huge passenger rush in December. The airport is handling around 128 flights, including domestic and international, and footfall of 17,000 passengers daily.
A spokesman of Chaudhary Charan Singh International airport said, “We have issued a travel advisory, requesting domestic flight passengers to report 2.5 hours early before the flight departure, and four hours prior for international flights.”
The airlines and the airport are sending alerts to passengers via SMS and social media about the reporting time.
“We have opened an additional entry gate to the terminal building to ease rush. Airport personnel have been deployed at the common-use self-service (CUSS) machine to assist and guide passengers for boarding pass and other requirements,” the spokesman said.
“Dynamic planning of check-in counters has also been introduced, which means that a particular airline counter can be used for other airline passengers too,” he added. Six baggage scanners and nine door frame metal detectors have been installed in the security check area. Further, aerobridges are being used for 40 flights per day.
