LUCKNOW: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati will hold a state-level meeting of the party on Friday.
Party insiders said the BSP chief would review the activities that had been taken up in the state with a view to strengthening the party’s presence at the ground level.
The party was already working for urban local body polls which have been postponed now.
“She will direct on what else has to be done to increase the party’s reach among voters ahead of the urban local body polls in the state scheduled for early next year and 2024 Lok Sabha elections”.
Besides, a decision on reshuffling the party’s rank and file, launching the next membership drive and activities to take place on Mayawati’s birthday on January 15, which is celebrated as ‘Jan Kalayankari Diwas‘ by BSP, might also be taken.
She has already directed the party workers and cadre to keep it an austere show on her birthday and not to spend on expensive gifts for her.
All party leaders, Mandal and sector coordinators and district presidents of the party and city president of BAMCEF (All India Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation) will be present in the meeting.
Newly-elected state president of the party, Vishwanath Pal, will also be present in the meeting.
This is the second state-level meeting that Mayawati has called in two months. The last meeting took place in October.
