LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh government’s efforts to attract investment for the proposed Global Investors Summit through international roadshows had the first breakthrough as the team travelling to Toronto signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Canada-based company, My Health Center, to start a multi-specialty hospital and medical college, and medical device manufacturing unit in Kanpur. “The total worth of this project is Rs 2050 crore,” said secretary, planning, Alok Kumar, who was present at the MoU exchange that took place between company’s CEO Suresh Madan and UP chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra. The delegation that held a roadshow in Toronto was headed by UP state assembly Speaker Satish Mahana and senior cabinet minister Dharampal Singh, who holds the animal husbandry portfolio.
“The teams in Frankfurt (Germany), London (UK) and Toronto (Canada) have interacted with the officials and investors of the respective countries and are generating a lot of interest,” an officials spokesperson said. The Yogi Adityanath government has targeted to generate investment worth Rs 10 lakh crore throught the Global Investors Summit to realise its dream of turning UP into a one trillion-dollar economy by the end of 2027.
