MEERUT: A UP police sub inspector shot himself with his service pistol in the early hours of Thursday in his residence at the Meerut police lines.
The deceased Inderjeet Singh, 45, was recently posted to Saharanpur but still held his official accommodation in Meerut Lines.
As of now police are clueless over the motive of taking this extreme step. “He had ordered food, and took his routine medicines. As of now his phone hasn’t revealed anything suspicious, so the reason is not clear. We are investigating at the moment”, said circle officer Civil Lines Meerut Arvind Chaurasia. However, a police source also revealed that there was domestic strife and he had an argument with his wife on some unspecified reason.
