LUCKNOW: An elderly man suffering from cancer was brutally attacked by four youths who got angry with him after he began honking at the cows blocking the road to move in Gautampalli police station area.
The victim, Ajay Singh, sustained grievous injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. “When the victim reached the Jiamau turn at around 10 pm, a herd of cows was blocking the road,” the FIR to the police said. The victim tried to make the cows move by blowing the vehicle’s horn.
“In the meantime, four youths later identified as Anshu, Suraj, Aman, Paras reached the spot. They pulled me out of the car. When I protested, the group thrashed me brutally and also broke my car wind-shield,” he said.
The victim said that when he raised an alarm, then one of them even trained a pistol on his head threatening him with dire consequences and with its butt injured the right side of his eye.
“I managed to escape from the spot somehow and made a phone call to the police,” he said. A police team reached the spot and got the victim admitted to the hospital.
SHO, Gautamapalli, Sudheer Awasthi told TOI that based on the report of the victim, an FIR under the charges of IPC 307 (attempt to murder), IPC 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (provoke breach of the peace) was lodged against Anshu, Suraj, Aman and Paras.
