LUCKNOW: A 21-year-old student Jaideep Yadav allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Indiranagar, police said on Friday.
It has found a three-page suicide note in Hindi alleging harassment from teachers and trainers.
The note has been given to handwriting experts for verification.
However, based on the suicide note, father of the victim, Sant Kumar Yadav, has filed an FIR under the charges of abetment of suicide against one Rajendra Thakur of Jawaharlal Nehru Yuva Kaushal Kendra.
Sant Kumar Yadav told police that on December 21 morning, his brother knocked on the door of his son’s room but got no response. “Later, we checked from the roof window and found that Jaideep was hanging from the ceiling fan rod,” he said. Later, with the help of other members, he was taken to RMLIMS, where doctors declared him dead.
Thereafter the police were informed which inspected his room and recovered a handwritten note in Hindi.
In the suicide note kept on the bed, Jaideep Yadav had mentioned that that he was being harassed mentally and physically for several days, and was locked in the room, hurled abuses and threatened to be jailed.
The note mentions: (Om Namah Shivay… I am writing this in my full senses that I am mentally harassed for the past many days. The seniors there don’t do anything, they try to make me mad. Even the teachers don’t say anything).
Assistant Commissioner of police, Ghazipur (Indiranagar), Vijay Raj Singh, said that a probe is going on in the case and statements of all the teachers and trainers have been taken. “The victim was studying for the last one year in the institute,” he said.
