LUCKNOW: Amid speculations that more than 10,000 people will visit the city in February for Global Investors Summit, the district administration on Friday instructed hoteliers to block advance booking of rooms between February 9 and February 13.
The upcoming three-day investors summit will be organized between February 10 and February 12. District magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar met owners or managers of nearly 130 hotels (including those above 3 stars and below 2 stars) and had a discussion with them on the resources at their hands.
The meeting was attended by special secretary to the chief minister, Prathamesh, special secretary (tourism) Ashwini Kumar Pandey, additional district magistrate (east) Amit Kumar, designated officer Shailendra Singh and other departmental officers.
Between February 9 and February 13, a few rooms of these hotels will be kept reserved.
The district administration will soon release guidelines, as to what will be the ratio per hotel for regular guests and those who will attend the Global Investors Summit. The SOP for the booking as well as price cap will also be issued in the coming days,” read a statement issued by the Lucknow DM’s office.
The DM said, “All hoteliers have been advised to increase the number of rooms in their hotels. Necessary NOCs will be issued on an urgent basis. All hotels will have to update the district administration about the status of their rooms via Google spreadsheets.”
“Further, hotels will set up an InvestUP help desk. One person will be appointed from the hotel, and another nodal officer from the administration for the helpdesk. Along with this, brochures, pamphlets etc. related to all the policies of Uttar Pradesh government will be made available at the helpdesk,” he further said.
