LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday that investment, employment generation and urbanization were on top of his government’s priority list. Taking part in the discussion on the supplementary budget in the state assembly on Tuesday, he said: “As per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, big and concerted efforts are being made in UP so that it could become the growth engine of the country’s economy.”
“Today investors from all over the world are eager to invest in UP. Every section is getting the benefits of schemes of the government without any discrimination, as a result, every person is ready to make their contribution to make the government’s efforts successful,” the CM remarked. Describing urbanization as an important dimension for development, he said that Rs 4,000 crore has been proposed for the development of new cities in the supplementary budget.
Before 2017, filth and clutter were the hallmark of the cities of UP, today the Central government is making 10 cities smart, while the state government is working to spruce up seven more, he added. “The Global Investors Summit being organized between February 10-12, 2023, is an important step to achieve the goal of making UP a $ 1 trillion economy.
Not only this, Prime Minister Modi is presiding over the G-20 group of important countries of the world during the Amrit Kaal of independence,” he said. “In the past five and a half years, UP has received investment worth Rs 4 lakh crore. The state is becoming a data center hub. In 2015-16, its export was worth 50,000 crore, which has jumped to 1.56 lakh crore,” he added.
The CM further remarked earlier, UP was facing an identity crisis and was known for riots. “Today, it has emerged as a model of law and order in the country,” he added. He said that today, every festival is celebrated in an atmosphere of peace and harmony in the state. Everyone has appreciated the UP model of Covid management,” he pointed out.
“Where investors used to dread to come, has become the best investment destination today. And now this state is on the way to become number one in ease of living,” Yogi remarked. He said that despite the order of the Supreme Court after the Nirbhaya episode in New Delhi, no city in Uttar Pradesh was made a ‘safe city’.
“Our government is working to make 18 cities, including Gautam Budh Nagar, safe cities. He also shared the resolution to fulfill the dream of Aviral Ganga-Nirmal Ganga before 2015 Prayagraj Kumbh. “People who visited Prayagraj during Kumbh in 2019 were surprised to see the security and cleanliness. Now, there is an opportunity to make Prayagraj Kumbh 2025 a unique event,” he said.
