KANPUR: A city girl Aaryanshi Jaiswal has been selected for Republic Day parade and Beating Retreat event to be held in New Delhi on January 26. Aaryanshi, a class IX student and a resident of Kidwainagar, is a part of 51 NCC All Girls Pilani Band of Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani Rajasthan.
The Pilani Band has been participating in the Republic Day Parade since 1960.
According to Aaryanshi’s parents, she has been practising hard with the group in this cold weather of Delhi for the final day performance on January 26. “She told us that the senior Army officials including Army Chief Manoj Pandey whole heartedly praised the efforts and brilliant performance by the Pilani Band,” said Anil Jaiswal, Aaryanshi’s father, an eminent businessman and a resident of Lal Bangla. She had pursued her initial studies at St Mary’s Convent School, said her parents.
Her friends and other family members said that they were very happy for her commendable achievement and wished her good luck. As per Aaryanshi, the band has NCC cadets in the age group of 12 to 16 years. On being asked what being part of this experience means to her, she proudly replies, “I can’t express my feelings in words. It’s an honour for me to be in the Pilani Band.” She said that she plays a trumpet in the Band. “For the last 63 years, the Band has been constantly participating in the Republic Day Parade of India. It has almost become a tradition now,” she added.
