LUCKNOW: The organiser of a music concert who duped hundreds on pretext of a show featuring Bollywood stars Sunny Leone and Tiger Shroff has now come under scanner for siphoning lakhs of rupees on pretence of providing businesspersons high-end SUV cars at throwaway prices.
DCP South Rahul Raj said this came to fore when the victims of the fraud visited Sushant Golf City police station and accused Viraj Arvind Trivedi of duping them. Police said complainants, Rajul Sinha and Amod Kumar, alleged that Viraj first approached them online and assured to provide high-end SUVs at cheaper price and took Rs 10 and 8 lakh from them.
Two days later, one JN Singh also lodged a similar complaint against Viraj and accused him of taking Rs 7 lakh for providing an SUV. Next, one Rajeev Khare lodged a complaint against Viraj, police said.
Two others were duped of Rs 25 lakh jointly. “We have merged all these cases with one FIR against Viraj worth a total of Rs 50 lakh,” he said. A live musical charity concert was to be organized at the Ekana Stadium on November 20 and then was postponed till Christmas. But when the Ekana Stadium authorities received no communication for two days, they cancelled the event. The concert tickets were priced from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000, sources said. On November 19, the first case was registered against Viraj on complaint of Randeep Singh Bhatia who alleged that he was duped of Rs 14 lakh.
