BAREILLY: A 30-year-old man planned his own abduction with the help of his brother in order to frame his rival in Sambhal, police said on Sunday.
Accused Sompal Singh (30) was a suspect in a robbery reported at a milk production unit in Bahjoi area. After finding that the unit’s manager is going to lodge a complaint against him, Sompal went missing and his brother Swami Singh later lodged a missing persons complaint.
Police then found Sompal near the unit with his hands tied with a rope. He initially told police that he was abducted but medical examination confirmed that he had self-inflicted injuries on his body. Additional SP Shirish Chandra said, “We have booked Sompal for giving false information and he will be produced before a magistrate.”
Sompal said, “My employer was planning to frame me in a fake theft case which is why I planned my abduction to save myself from him.”
