BAREILLY: A 33-year-old eight-months pregnant woman and her 35-year-old farmer husband were killed with blows to their heads allegedly by their relatives over property dispute in Lahadora village of Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district. The incident occurred on Wednesday night when the accused barged into the victims’ house and attacked them with iron rods.
Bodies of Somveer Singh and his wife Khushboo were found lying on a cot inside their house. Somveer’s brother Udayveer, who works as a teacher in a private school, was also allegedly attacked by the accused. However, he survived and after regaining his consciousness, he informed the Dial 112 police team and lodged a complaint.
Udayveer, in his complaint, alleged his brother and sister-in-law were killed by their uncle Amar Singh, his son Satyendra, and one other unidentified person over a dispute related to 15 bigha agricultural land. He said they barged into their house around 3 am and killed them by hitting them with iron rods on their heads.
According to police, Somveer had married Kushboo, a native of Bihar, two years ago. The couple was expecting their first child soon.
An FIR for murder has been registered against the three men at Dataganj police station and two of them have been arrested, said police. The doctor who conducted the autopsy confirmed that the woman was eight-months pregnant.
SP (rural) Siddharth Verma said, “Amar Singh and Satyendra were arrested from their house and police are verifying the statement of Udayveer. The accused will be sent to jail. Forensic experts have collected evidence from the spot and the probe is underway.”
