LUCKNOW: Stating that UP has become a success story of the double engine model of development, Union minister for health and family welfare Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday said it is the perfect time for people to invest in the state.
“The problem of law and order has been solved, there is political will and administrative ecosystem to attract investment and ensure implementation. In terms of investments, UP is now leading by example,” Mandaviya said, while speaking at a sectoral session, ‘Healthcare through the investor lens Post-Covid scenario’, organised as part of the ongoing Global Investors Summit.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said, “Since UP is the most populous state in the country, the government alone cannot cater to the needs of the people. Private sector must pitch in.” Special guest, chairman of Medanta Hospital Dr Naresh Trehan, spoke on the need for strengthening the rural healthcare system.
Dr Lal Path Labs MD, Dr OP Manchanda, said: “Over 20% of our business comes from UP while nearly 90% of the collection centres are located in peri-urban areas. There is need to strengthen the testing and diagnostic services in the periphery.”
