LUCKNOW: Networking switches worth about Rs 25 lakh were stolen from the emergency building of SGPGI on Rae Bareli Road under PGI police station area on Monday. Police said that an FIR has been lodged and an investigation is underway.
Police said that the FIR was lodged by Saurabh Pal who had the contract for setting up a server network in SGPGI.
The FIR said that on December 18 an information was received over the phone that the locks of the server room in the emergency building were found broken. Thereafter, Saurabh reached the emergency building and found the switches of CISCO company worth lakhs in the rack missing.
Saurabh said only those who have knowledge about networking can execute such a theft and only those switches have been stolen which are not under operation or in which the network is closed.
Saurabh alleged in his FIR that he suspected one Harsh and another Akash, who manage such a network. Saurabh told police that PGI has locked server rooms of some blocks in the institute, in which they are not getting permission to enter.
SHO Rana Rajesh Kumar Singh said that an FIR has been lodged.
