LUCKNOW: Extending a warm welcome to diplomats, senior officials and probable investors, UP’s minister for industrial and infrastructure development Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi said that the upcoming Global Investors Summit (GIS) will prove to be a milestone in UP’s journey towards the one trillion-dollar economy goal.
“Under the able leadership of our ‘Karmayogi’ (one who believes in action) CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has become Uttam Pradesh in the past five years. With the ongoing efforts, the state shall soon become Sarva Uttam Pradesh (best state),” said Nandi while speaking at the UP GIS curtain-raiser event.
Adding that UP has created world-class infrastructure in the past five years, Nandi said that the state was offering the perfect bouquet of features to the investors.
“We are closer to the national capital, have the required connectivity and infrastructure, raw material, landbank, a consumer base of nearly 25 crore and a robust up-to-date policy framework that provides special incentives and subsidies to investors,” he said.
Calling the global investors summit a first-hand opportunity to experience the growth potential in state, Nandi said: “Through the investors summit in Lucknow on February 10-12, 2023, we will showcase the immense business opportunities in Uttar Pradesh and create a platform for the global business community to collaborate with us in writing a New India growth story.”
Earlier, in the welcome address, chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra introduced the importance of organizing the Global Investors Summit while discussing the industrial investment friendly environment of the state in the past five and a half years under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath.
Industry partners for the event, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), also extended an invitation for the UP GIS-2023.
Praising the investment friendly environment in Uttar Pradesh, CII vice-president Sanjeev Puri said: “UP Global Investors Summit would prove to be a milestone in the ambitious plan to make Uttar Pradesh a one trillion-dollar economy.”
FICCI president Shubhra Kumar Panda said, “UP is raising the bar in terms of its ambitions, scale, competence, and can-do spirit under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. State’s new policies like IT/ITES, start-up, electronic vehicle, defence and aerospace are encouraging for the industry.”
Additional chief secretary (industries) Arvind Kumar proposed the vote of thanks. The logo for the event, a short movie on the potential in state and a compendium of policies in UP were also released on the occasion.
