LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that PM Narendra Modi successfully controlled riots and crime when he was the chief minister of Gujarat and “imposed curfews on curfews”.
Addressing election rallies in Chhota Udaipur and Kheda of poll-bound Gujarat, Yogi also launched a fresh offensive against Congress saying that if the party was in power then its “unscrupulous” leaders would have devoured the ration and sold Corona vaccines in the black market.
He slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka for remaining “invisible” during the pandemic. “There is a difference in what Congress says and what it does,” he said.
Yogi’s rallies were organised in Sankheda and Mahmedabad assembly constituencies of Chhota Udaipur and Kheda districts.Reaching out to the Scheduled Tribes, Yogi said that several steps have been taken under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi to uplift and give due honour to them.
He categorically cited the election of Droupadi Murmu as the first tribal president of India since Independence.
He said that the STs, who were an important part of Lord Rama’s army and played a key role in the establishment of Ramrajya in the country, are getting the benefits of all welfare schemes of the government, such as houses under PM Awas Yojana, electricity, tap water under Har Ghar Nal, pension for destitute women, widows and differently abled etc.
He said that a university in the name of Birsa Munda was also being built in Gujarat whereas tribal students were being provided hostel facilities and scholarships. Yogi said an attempt was being made to provide the benefits of welfare schemes to everyone, irrespective of caste or community and without any discrimination.
The CM said that it’s the outcome of the vision of PM Modi and the bold and determined initiative of home minister Amit Shah that article 370 was abrogated from Jammu & Kashmir.
“This was the last nail in the coffin of terrorism,” he said, adding that Naxalism will also end in the country under the strong leadership of PM Modi. He said that as India celebrates the Amrit Mahotsav, it has become the fifth largest economy of the world and is leading G20 (Group of 20 most powerful nations) that control 80% of the world. Yogi credited PM Modi for enhancing India’s global prestige. He said that PM Modi has respected the faith of the country and it was because of his leadership that a grand Ram Temple was being built in Ayodhya.
