LUCKNOW : The 2025 Mahakumbh to be held in Prayagraj would be a ‘Green Kumbh’ with special attention on ensuring proper sanitation and making it pollution free.
In a meeting chaired by chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday, it was decided that three new fivestar hotels would be constructed before 2025 to accommodate a larger number of guests and a Sangam Wheel, on the lines of the London Eye, would be set up at the mela site.
Drones will be used extensively for crowd and traffic management and security. We are expecting around 40 crore people to attend the 2025 Kumbh, against the 24 crore which attended the 2019 Kumbh,” a spokesperson said.
He said that in the light of the expected crowds, Metro operations are also being considered for Prayagraj.
In case that is not possible, then the government may think about using pods. Work has started on the construction of a ropeway and operation of a cruise.
