LUCKNOW: Rahul Gandhi-led ‘Bharat Jodo’ yatra will enter Uttar Pradesh, kick-start on January 3 from Loni border of Ghaziabad and will continue till Kairana of Shamli district before entering Haryana’s Panipat on January 5.
He will be joined by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra too.
The yatra, which started on September 7 from Kanyakumari, covering nine states and one Union Territory, will cover close to 100 km via three districts (Ghaziabad, Baghpat and Shamli) in Uttar Pradesh for three days between Tuesday and Thursday.
Speaking to TOI, Ashok Singh, the party’s state unit spokesperson, said, “Large number of people will join Bharat Jodo yatra in UP. Therefore, we have written to the state DGP to not only increase security details of Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, but also provide adequate security on the route for people participating in it.”
“During the journey, Rahul and Priyanka will interact with groups of farmers, labourers and small-scale factory owners as well who are engaged in metal and fabric works,” he said.
