LUCKNOW: A 22-year-old man working as a recovery agent with a bank allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his father’s double-barrel gun at his residence in Triveni Nagar on Friday, police said.
The victim Ajay Singh‘s father Jitendra Singh has filed a case against unidentified bank officials of abetment to suicide at Aliganj police station.
SHO, Aliganj, Nagesh Upadhyay, told TOI that the incident came to light when the victim’s father, who was sleeping in another room, heard a gunshot around 2 am and rushed to his son’s room on the second floor.
“He found his son lying in a pool of blood while the gun was lying next to him. The family immediately took Ajay to KGMU Trauma centre where doctors declared him dead,” said Upadhyay.
Victim’s father informed police that his son was being harassed by seniors in the bank. “For the last few days my son was depressed after being mentally tortured by the bank officials,” said Jitendra, who works as a security officer in a private company. A team of forensic unit collected samples from the scene and seized the gun. The body was sent for postmortem.
“The doctors who examined the body told us that he had shot himself in the chest,” said the SHO.
