KANPUR: Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSPL) chief Shivpal Yadav, engaged in campaigning for daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav in Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-election in Jaswantnagar, on Friday made a revelation how they all came together, specially after the death of Samajwadi Party (SP) patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Shivpal said, “Now, when my daughter-in-law Dimple is contesting elections, we (Yadav clan) all have also become one. Dimple had made me call saying ‘uncle, you have to join us in the elections’. Now when a daughter-in-law has asked to come with her, who could say no,” he said.
He said everyone used to ask him to unite, now they all have united.
“I have also told Akhilesh (nephew and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav) that we will all remain united. I have even told Dimple that if Akhilesh messes up, you have to stay with me. Now, we have to fight not one but two elections.. we will fight together in future also,” he said while campaigning for Dimple in Sarsai Helu village of Basrehar block of Jaswantnagar on Friday.
He said that also in the absence of ‘Netaji’ (Mulayam), his reputation is also at stake in this election. “Now, we have to fight one or two more elections, then these youngsters will contest the elections in the future.”
Shivpal further appealed to the people of Jaswant Nagar to vote in favour of SP candidate Dimple.
Describing the policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as wrong, he said that corruption is at its peak in the system in this government. “Bribery is going on openly in the police station. The work which used to be done in 100 rupees earlier is not being done even in 1,000 rupees,” he said.
Also, he described the BJP government as anti-farmers.
“Farmers are troubled by electricity lawsuits. This time, after the demise of Netaji, the by-election is being held on the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat, so for the honour of Netaji, everyone has to vote enthusiastically and make Dimple win by a huge margin of votes.”
