KANPUR: Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle and PSP-L president Shivpal Yadav, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that they have been not been able to “rise above nepotism and family politics”. Accusing Shivpal Yadav of frequently changing stance, Yogi likened him to a “pendulum” and a “football”.
Addressing an election rally for the Mainpuri Lok Sabha bypolls at Karhal, Yogi said: “He (Shivpal) has become something like a pendulum, or a football that gets kicked by both teams. We saw how last time he was insulted on stage through denial of a chair and had to sit on the arm of a chair.”
“They (SP) will try to play an emotional card, but don’t get misled by them. Socialism and secularism are empty slogans for SP, which treats politics as a family business.”
