LUCKNOW: A speeding car knocked down a 62-year-old man on a two-wheeler and injured two others on Naka flyover late Wednesday night, police said.
Police said the deceased Ramkrishna Singh, a resident of Alambagh’s Mawaiya, was father of a judicial magistrate posted in Kanpur Nagar.
Naka Hindola SHO Brijesh Dwivedi said: “Around 11 pm, Singh was on his way to Hussainganj from Aishbagh on his two-wheeler when a speeding car hit him. The impact of the collision was such that Singh was tossed about 5m ahead. Further, the car driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the railing of the flyover resulting in injuries to two bike-borne men coming from behind who had to apply sudden brakes to avoid major accident.”
The locals caught hold of the car driver and handed him over to the police.
All the three were taken to a private hospital where Singh was declared brought dead while Arun and Sachin, both of Chinhat, were undergoing treatment.
Dwivedi said the driver Vivek is being interrogated.
