LUCKNOW: Chief judicial magistrate Ravi Kumar Gupta on Saturday sent Sufiyan, accused of pushing a 19-year-old girl to death from the fourth floor of an apartment in Dubagga area, to judicial custody till December 3. In a separate case, ACJM Mohammed Arif Khan sent Sufiyan to judicial custody till December 2 for opening fire at a police team on Friday. He was arrested following an encounter.
A case of murder and under sections 3 and 5 (1) of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion of Religion Act, 2021, was lodged against Sufiyan, 22, who worked as a ‘dyer’.
Sufiyan was brought to the court premises after noon, but he had to be kept in the ambulance and a crowd of protesting lawyers was getting out of control.
To recall, the 19-year-old girl had a fatal fall after her boyfriend, Sufiyan, allegedly pushed her from the fourth floor of an apartment building in Lucknow following an argument on Tuesday evening.
In the FIR, the deceased girl’s mother had stated that Sufiyan had been harassing her daughter for quite some time.
