VARANASI: Two persons were killed and three suffered injuries in two separate group clashes in the villages under the limits of Bilariaganj and Tarva police station in Azamgarh district.
On Rinku Yadav (20) of Shrinagar Siyaraha village under Bilariaganj police station was cutting a tree when his relatives attacked him with axe and sticks on Sunday morning. When his mother Phulwasi and brother Pintu tried to save Rinku, they were also attacked. On hearing their cries, other villagers intervened and rushed the trio to the district hospital where doctors declared Rinku as brought dead.
SO Bilariaganj Vijay Prakash said that on the complaint of Rinku’s family a named FIR against six persons including his relative Subhash Yadav, Sadhu Yadav and their other family members has been lodged. Subhash and four accused had been taken under custody for interrogation, he said adding, sufficient force has been deployed in the village to avoid recurrence of any untoward incident. The body has been sent for postmortem.
During initial investigation of police it came to light that Rinku’s father Ramesh Yadav had an old property dispute with his brother Subhash. On Sunday morning, Rinku started chopping a tree on the same dispute land when Subhash and his family members attacked him.
In another incident, one Ravishesh Yadav was killed while his brother Sachin suffered bullet injuries in leg when their neighbours opened indiscriminate fire on the duo following an altercation in an old dispute between their families in Baghra village under Tarva police station on Saturday night.
After taking stock of the condition of injured Sachin at the district hospital, SP Azamgarh Anurag Arya said that the incident occurred in an old enmity of the families of Sachin and their neighbour. He said that two police teams had been constituted for early arrest of accused, who are absconding after the incident. Police were trying to find out the reason of delay in information to the police by the Baghra natives including Sachin’s family.
