LUCKNOW: In a heartwarming gesture, deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Tuesday offered his vest-jacket (Sadri) to a patient shivering with cold while waiting to consult doctors at Balrampur Hospital.
Pathak was inspecting the hospital where a mock drill to review the preparations for Covid-19 was underway.
On the instructions of the Central government, mock drills were being conducted in major hospitals, medical colleges, and district hospitals of Uttar Pradesh given the increasing threat of Covid-19.
Pathak reached Balrampur Hospital around 10am. While passing through the superspeciality waiting area, he saw a patient wearing only a T-shirt and shivering. On this, the DyCM took off his ‘Sadri’ and put it on the patient, who was identified as Banwari of the Khudri Bazar area.
Talking to the media after the drill, the DyCM said that some flaws were found in the mock drill, but they would be rectified and another one will be conducted after a week.
Meanwhile, mock drills were also conducted at SPM Civil Hospital, Lokbandhu Hospital and RSM hospitals of the city. Director health and family welfare Dr Lily Singh visited SPM Civil hospital and directed officials to be prepared to tackle the next wave of Covid-19.
