LUCKNOW: Police personnel will remain on toes starting December 31 till the New Year day.
A review meeting was conducted by the additional chief secretary, home and the DGP on police management and traffic control on New Year and festivals late on Friday.
DGP DS Chauhan said all police commissioners and district police chiefs should set up investor cells in their respective offices for the upcoming Global Investors Summit. Elaborating on preparations for the New Year, he said that strict action will be taken against those who indulge in nuisance.
Chauhan said that all commissioners and district police chiefs have been instructed to make proper deployment in crowded places, markets and near pubs.
The DGP asked cops to prepare a traffic control action plan and make it available to the additional director general of police, Traffic Headquarters.
“Cooperation of civil defence should be taken in police management on New Year, proper arrangements should be made to prevent overloading on boats and places near rivers and reservoirs,” said Prashant Kumar, ADG Law and Order.
Kumar said that police chiefs have been asked to conduct patrolling while U should look to effectively curb accidents caused by speeding of vehicles.
