LUCKNOW : A couple allegedly duped a youth of Indiranagar of Rs 30 lakh on the pretext of helping him open a Jan Aushadi Kendra and later threatened to kill the victim when he sought a refund of his money in Vikas Nagar.
Victim Yamuna Singh of Indiranagar met Awdhendra and his wife Alka a few days ago through a common acquaintance and they promised him to help him get a Jan Aushadi Kendra opened in his name. The duo took the money from Yamuna Singh on the pretext of giving him a license to open the centre.
“The couple had given me two cheques but it was dishonoured. When I asked them to refund the money, they threatened to kill me,” the victim alleged. Police are investigating the case.
In another case in Aashiana, a youth was duped of Rs 4 lakh by an imposter on the pretext of a job in the education department. DCP North Zone Qasim Abidi said an FIR was lodged and a probe was on.
