ALLAHABAD: Violence erupted in and around the Arts campus of Allahabad University on Monday after the security guards of the university allegedly misbehaved with a former student leader and manhandled him.
Student leaders reportedly vandalised the campus and pelted stones.

Akash Kulhari, additional commissioner of police, is present on the campus with the police force and trying to pacify the agitated students.
“Police commissioner Prayagraj, additional commissioner of police, district magistrate are present on the spot with an adequate police force. Necessary action is being taken to control the situation as police are interacting with students and security guards,” Police said.
