MEERUT: A mutilated body of a 35-year-old woman was recovered from a jungle in the outskirts of Takhavali village in Meerut’s Bahsuma area on Tuesday evening.
The victim Sonia Singh reportedly went missing on November 21 this year. Her family alleged that she was abducted and killed by her two brothers in-laws – Karan Singh and Dhyan Singh – over a dispute regarding 22 bigha land worth lakhs that she owned.
A case was registered under section 362 (abduction) and 363 (kidnapping) following a complaint by the victim’s brother. The body has been sent for post mortem.
Circle officer, Mavana, Ashish Sharma, said that a DNA test will be done to ascertain the identity.
