LUCKNOW: A youth was allegedly duped of Rs 17.5 lakh on the pretext of a job in a madrassa in Siddharthnagar.
As per the complaint lodged with Hazratganj police, the miscreant posing as the manager of a madrassa in Siddharthnagar assured the complainant, Mohammed Ismail Khan, that he would facilitate a job for him. The case was registere through the court’s instruction as the police had earlier refused to lodge and FIR. Ismail said he met Mohammed Mohisin Khan at Jawahar Bhawan when he was searching for a job.
Mohisin asked him to give Rs 20 lakh for a job in madrassa. Later, he agreed for Rs 15 lakh. “I gave the money to Mohisin at Jawahar Bhawan. Few months later, he demanded more money for the work and I gave him Rs 2.5 lakh more. But, he did not get me a job and refused to return the money,” the complainant said.
ADCP, central zone, Rajesh Srivastava said an FIR was registered and probe underway in this connection.
